No-Cost Community Services We offer three free, community-led services to ensure access and support: Emotional Wellness & Culturally Safe Counseling One-on-one and group sessions in Somali, Amharic, Yoruba, Twi, French, and Caribbean dialectsAddress grief, migration trauma, intergenerational conflict, social isolationDelivered via partnerships with community counsellors, social workers, and interns Dementia-Friendly Care & Sensory Programs Memory cafés featuring African/Caribbean music, storytelling, familiar foodsSensory stations (touch, smell, sound) to stimulate memory and reduce anxietySupported by student volunteers, donated materials, and caregiver collaboration Advocacy & Paperwork Help Desk Bilingual assistance with ODSP, OHIP, CPP, pensions, immigration, housing, and settlement servicesPartnering with legal aid, settlement agencies, trained volunteers.
